I had always raked my yard. However, one year during a very busy work period I was a little behind on raking the leaves and was planning on doing it the next day. The old snooty neighbor guy that lived right down the hill from me "told me" that I needed to rake my yard because some of "my leaves" were blowing downhill onto his yard.
I never raked leaves again as long as I lived there! Every single leaf would eventually blow downhill.
Moral of the story.....don't piss off your neighbor that lives uphill from you about leaves.

How can an organization in which one of the main focuses is to make disciples....put so much emphasis on kooky controlling rules that drive alot of their current membership out the backdoor?

In.......congrats on thinking for yourself to get an education and/or training despite pressure from the WTS and with the cong. to not do so. My advise is to just think for yourself and not let anyone influence your decision one way or the other. I believe if you stay for now, your mind and heart will help you make the right decision for you. I can honestly say I had no external influence at all on my decision to leave 15 yrs ago. I seen enough on my own to make up my mind and follow my heart. Nothing but success to you buddy.

Wow....I am so enlightened. I would always catch one of my employees on FB all the time. I wondered what the big deal of it was. Now I know. He was having FB sex!!!
Now I might have to put my privacy & govt. conspiracy suspicions aside and sign up for me some FB sex.

since the watchtower bible and tract society began its course to teach its prapaganda, many have suffered severly.
That whole "Jehovah hates a divorce" thing bothered me. I personally knew of abused wifes and would give counsel to get a divorce. Other elders would play the JHAD card and guilt them into continuing in the abusive relationship.
One abusive husband probably doesn't know how close I came to firing on him for prowling around my house one night. He had made previous threats with a gun and was a nutcase. I was locked & loaded and ready to fire into his grill if he pulled into my driveway.
They are probably back together and him an elder somewhere.

I believe giving a talk about the JW religion in a church was always allowed, if you were invited and wanted to do it. Surely the whole elder body would be in on the decision. Of course clergy would never be invited to talk in the KH, which is understandable.
I kept waiting for my invitation to speak at the Vatican, but it never came.
